Why Iran Didn’t Walk Away.
On May 8, 2018, Donald Trump announced that the United States was
withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action,
the nuclear agreement that Iran had signed with the United States,
Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China three years earlier. He
reimposed every sanction the deal had lifted and then piled on more under
a policy he called “maximum pressure.” Iran had not violated the agreement.
Iranian nuclear site, had certified again and again that Iran was keeping
its side of the bargain.
