Ok, who's the brain dead idiot that thought this was a good idea?
I get the desire for switching traffic to electric, including trucks, but if you can't actually make the batteries last long enough for a trip, than this is the stupidest thing you could do.
We already have a problem with wasting energy because of the inherent inefficiency of transporting electricity from power plant to consumer. And you want to add onto that by putting up even more wires on every major highway for even more electricity to be wasted because of these inherent inefficiencies?
I really hate these "charge on the go" solutions people try to come up with for under-performing electric vehicles. Fix the actual god damned problem EVs have, don't put band-aids on them.

P.S. At least trains make up for inefficiencies in the system by a) going on straighter paths than most roads do b) actually pulling loads that are incredibly massive.
