What's the worst computer virus you ever had to deal with?
Me, it was back in Windows XP days, and it was one of those thumb drive viruses, that would put your USB drive files in a hidden folder, and then make infected shortcuts to trick you into opening your files with them instead. The worst part of it was that it fucked around with the Windows setting that let you see hidden files and folders.
@alyx not a virus but hp put something in their PCs once that would trigger CODE PURPLE when factory resetting to get you to call them to pay to fix it. it was fixable through editing some notepad file through cmd

Are we talking Windows factory reset? Why would they stop you from doing that? That's really odd...
@alyx an iOS calendar adware on somebody else's phone was the most annoying, a cryptominer from a pirated game was the most enraging

On someone else's device, I had to fix up some adware search bars from IE. I am a bit surprised I didn't encounter crytominer stuff though.
