i highly doubt parler would ever federate but i'd laugh so hard if they did. fat chance tho, it'd just be gab all over again

no really, i have no idea why parler even exists. they have the exact same rules as gab and serve the same audience. was it created as a reaction to it? why though?

Gab kinda failed to take off in any significant way. Mostly because it was quickly turned into a scapegoat and boogeyman by certain demographics. So Parler is the next attempt at being the new Twitter, since Gab didn't succeed. I'm guessing that as long as one of these alternatives doesn't manage to gain mainstream status on par with Twitter, new ones will keep appearing.
@alyx perhaps, though parler is popular with trump supporters so they'll just be another scapegoat, idk if it'll fix anything
