@alyx complication is that brave isn't in repos here on void and i don't think they like new browser bundles being proposed.

Brave is overhyped for no reason as far as I'm concerned. Back when I used it (it seems like years and years have passed) it wasn't particularly fast, was severely lacking on add-on and other feature support, and the only redeeming unique feature was mostly meh for me. Don't know how many people actually use it's crypto coin.
So limiting themselves to promoting one single browser is stupid. People are bound to being displeased by it and go back to firefox. They need to make a list of at least half a dozen browsers, so when a user ends up disliking the first one, there's a chance he'll try a few more before abandoning the quest and returning to firefox.
