At what point should a person just call it quits and accept their loses?

But time is one of the most important things you can lose. So saying "it's the only thing" like it's not important is silly. Maybe more than others, time is a resource you should be really careful not to lose to sunken cost fallacy.

Pretty much. Honestly, time lost is what I associate the most with sunken cost fallacy.
