Christianity has a thing about women being unclean during her period and that you shouldn't fuck her until the period ends and she takes a bath.

@alyx @theblessing @dubh @11112011 @Prodigal that's in the old testament though. After the messiah ig all changes.

Once you are washed in the blood of the lamb you can dive in the blood of the clam.

Except it doesn't really change. Jesus never said "don't worry fellas, I'm canceling the old rules". He specifically says "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them". Meaning Old Testament stuff still applies.

@alyx @MisterRogersSnapped @dubh @11112011 @Prodigal @theblessing every time i ask questions about christianity from the bible i just get told "oh that's old testament" and i shrug like "... so the bible doesn't matter then?" and usually stop talking to them

Christians tend to be bad at being consistent with their faith. And most aren't really aware of all the shit in it. They just know the surface level "god loves you and Jesus is his son".

@icedquinn @alyx @11112011 @MisterRogersSnapped @Prodigal @dubh @theblessing There are Moses laws and then there are God laws.

Reading the old testament , you can see how God intended man to behave and how the children of Israel diverge from it. For example with marriage,

" Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”

4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”

11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

Not really. Paul expanded on this in Colossians.

Fulfilling the law means more than following them.

It means upgrading them from beta to production.

Colossian 2:16,17

"16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

17These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."

Upgrading still doesn't mean completely ignoring the old laws. Besides, who am I supposed to listen to, Jesus Christ, the Son of God himself, or a simple human that dares to interpret the Word of God?

@alyx @dubh @11112011 @MisterRogersSnapped @theblessing

Good question, I can answer it but putting on my cleric hat may not earn me shitposting points.

If you keep in mind that Jesus, from heaven, converted Paul from Jew to Christian, you have your answer.

(Acts 9:4)
@alyx @dubh @11112011 @Prodigal @theblessing then we should get to stoning the gays. There blood is on their own head.

After that we'll deal with the fucking pork eaters but it will take some time.

The promises were fulfilled. You can wear cotton and wool together now.

"Thank god for the freedom of the gospel!"
@alyx @dubh @11112011 @Prodigal @theblessing Why do you think they open the borders? To drive labor cost down.

We are all slaves from surrounding nations.
@dubh @11112011 @Prodigal @alyx @theblessing ah ah ah you've never heard of the "brain drain" of countries like India? We import the smart people and pay them less, too.
