As far as I'm concerned, whether it's Japanese, Chinese or Korean, it's still Asian, and still a big win.

Chinese gf does have the downside that you can't immediately associate her with a big pop movement. Like, you can't associate her with Japanese otakus, anime, manga etc. or Kpop music. Don't know if the Chinese even have a thing of their own, except slavery and internment camps.
