Boomer right though. Until bitcoin (or any other crypto currency) manages to show some actual stability and stop fluctuating like crazy (whether it's inflating or deflating in value), it won't be an adequate currency for daily use.
For now, people adopting it and being hyped for bitcoin do it BECAUSE of it's fluctuations, and not because it's a better payment method. We basically need to change this around if we ever want it to replace USD.
@alyx @pasture @11112011 it needs actual underlying value offerings other than being able to trade with it, I think ETH is going in the right direction but I don’t think smart contracts are the solution itself, needs to be some way of being able to spend the currency itself on general purpose computing from other “miners” and then you have some value pegged to some real productive output
