Bad journalists have done more harm to the scientific field than fundamentalist religions ever could.

@alyx @waltercool it is actually overblown (by journalists, who are all bad) how much harm religious types did in the west
@fluffy @alyx @waltercool i tried to find books on how to be a good journalist.

sql returned zero results.

@fluffy @waltercool
Maybe it's overblown by atheist figures, but journalists in general not really, since they don't approach religious subjects that often.

@alyx @fluffy Unless it’s pedophilia from Christian priests. They are expert for that.

@waltercool @fluffy
I've heard some atheists say that not enough attention was given by the news media to the Catholic pedo scandal. So apparently they're not experts enough. :peepoShrug:

@alyx @fluffy I consider those investigations okay, sometimes exaggerated, but those people are hypocrites about other religions.

You know, when are ethnical minorities, it's offensive
@alyx @waltercool if not journalists, then who is responsible for people thinking the inquisition was some sort of persecution, or that galileo was persecuted for saying earth is flat (both lies, galileo was perscuted for getting involved in theologal conflicts for example)

@fluffy @waltercool
Bad school curriculum combined with just general spread of wrong information by common people. When exactly was the last time you've seen journalists discuss the inquisition?

@alyx @waltercool they are both created by people who went to the same schools, had the same professors, and are deeply conformant and uniform in their beliefs.

I am saying that DoE and journalists are just two different ways to push propaganda. education, even, might be more conformist than journalism. and the more conformist, the more you are going to follow what big business (who decides which guy gets promoted to the top, this is "rigorous standards" at work) wants.
