The only complaint I have is that the graphic advancement between the generations isn't great enough to where you can tell at a glance between the remake and playing the original game upscaled via an emulator.
So far all the remakes made tons of sense, since the newer systems allowed for much better graphics and much more refined gameplay mechanics. Not sure what the Switch can bring to the table for 4th gen Pokemon games. The graphic difference is already a meh.

Question: can you still buy a brand new 3DS? If yes, I agree. Any game that can run on it should not be getting a remake. Remakes make sense after the original platform is long dead.
They should've just release it as an emulated game instead if they were going to make it this lazily

Considering they're reused assets for Sword and Shield, I guess this is what we can expect going forward.
In this remake, we get a copy/paste of S&S battle system, then a horrid Wiiware level of Chibi for overworld
