Ok, this has been bugging me for a while. Which of you morons thought the pandemic would be done and over with in those initial promised 2 weeks lockdown? And which of you were just as stupid as to think lockdowns wouldn't be a reoccurring thing for the foreseeable future?

How is it that virtually everyone was this idiotic as to not understand what the long term plan was? Don't get me wrong, at the very least USA did not respect it anyway, but y'all seem to have failed to understand that the lockdown was never a once only thing. It was supposed to be on and off, depending on the numbers of infected. It's not my problem or fault that you people refused to take basic protection measures and so politicians never completely removed lockdowns because they couldn't afford it.

@alyx

Lockdowns don't work. No matter what the protection measure was, none of them has made any difference at all. It's all a scam.

@Madcucks
Lockdowns didn't work for y'all because Americans are literally too stupid. Lockdowns, closing schools, wearing masks, all of these worked for my country.

@alyx

No we aren't.

No they didn't. Correlation doesn't equal causation.

@Madcucks
You don't even know were I'm from, so shut the fuck you, you complete brain dead moron. Don't talk to me about correlation and causation when I've had people around me get sick from this and I managed to escape because of basic measures like wearing a fucking mask. You've got no idea about the statistics and data from my country, so stop pretending that you do. Better go and do something useful for once in your life and suck your own cock.

@alyx

I don't care where you're from, you're a foreigner, your opinion is worthless.

I've done everything possible to get sick and never did, so your "escape" isn't noteworthy.

Come blow me faggot.

@alyx @Madcucks
Would twoud it twer that we could all be Martians from Neptune, but not everyone is smart enough to desire enslavement by their government.

@alyx

Literally been arguing with retards like you for a year, "You needed to lock down harder." "You need to wear more masks." "You need to have more testing."

All the whole ignoring the actual impact of the economy and loss of life caused by your retarded interventions.

@alyx
Depends on which country you're from
It was sold to us in the UK as two weeks, it was the only way we would grant the politicians the power to enforce such a thing

The issue is that virtually none of the countries actually "locked down" , most of them, UK included, kept the borders open for most of the year, y'know, the MOST IMPORTANT thing when it comes to containment of anything
It could have just been 2 weeks of "lockdown" and never had the kinds of numbers that we ended up with, the issue is that pretty much no countries have the self sustainability that they should. Even had we closed the border in and out to travelers and had proper guidelines for food we would've been better off, even in the March lockdown, businessmen went to and from other countries
It's like they didn't actually try to lower the spread.

@Lumeinshin
1) When dealing with an unknown factor, time spans like "2 weeks" are just something pulled out of someone's optimist ass, and they are bound to change. Complaining that 2 weeks have passed, and there's still a lockdown, while completely ignoring the actual numbers, is stupid.
Like imagine going into a war, with the promise it'll last a month or two, and then complaining that it's been years of fighting, while completely ignoring that the initial war turned into a World War.
Yeah, things change. Of course you're not gonna still keep to that initial time span when initial parameters change drastically.

2) I'll repeat this until people get it through their thick skull. If y'all had actually informed yourselves from scientific sources, you would have known that the plan was from the start to have repeated periods of lockdowns and relaxation, depending on case numbers. And if case numbers and overall safety measures never reached a level the guys in charge deemed adequate, y'all aren't gonna get rid of the lockdowns. It's that simple. And the people that don't like that fact have no one to blame but themselves.

I'll say it again: IT WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A ONE TIME 2 WEEK PERIOD.

>y'all
:yamai_ew:
From December 2019 to March there was all sorts of things told to the public.
The WHO has quite literally held every possible position on the coronavirus possible, and these are supposedly the "experts"

Not sure if you have forgotten but the number of days required to isolate has even changed, the most credible I'd heard was 21 days, but even that has shifted and changed even to now
So you'll have to forgive the general public if they are confused. Hell even this position of unending lockdowns was branded a crazy conspiracy by "officials"

I was saying that the lockdowns were pitched to us by our politicians as a one off. That is all, and all the holier than thou attitude in the world doesn't change that.

> IT WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A ONE TIME 2 WEEK PERIOD.
Then why did they say specifically "two weeks" and it was "to slow/stop the spread?" They lied and said it would be two weeks and here we are at a year now. Whether you tolerate that misstatement is up to you, but telling me this was the plan from the beginning is just being facetious, it's obvious now yes this was the plan from the beginning since we're still here, but that's *definitely* not what they told the populace. I can also safely say they enjoy the elevated importance of emergency powers, since we've had about a year of them. The funny thing is the places with lockdowns and mask mandates don't always do better than places without, and often do worse.
