It's not that "transgenderism is bad", it's more a "here's why teenage girls are attracted by this trend, but it's gonna harm them cause they're not actually dysphoric". But from what I heard from the author in interviews, the arguments generally apply for both sexes. She just focused on girls, because of the "meteor strikes earth, women most affected" phenomenon.

An approach you can take is to ask your sister how many other children at her kid's school came out as trans, or how many children in the kid's social circle are "trans", and if she thinks this has no influence on other children wanting to belong to this exclusive group.

I'm really sad to hear this tbh. I hope you manage to talk your sister out of doing something drastic, like actually giving the kid any kind of hormone therapy. All that shit is too dangerous (even the hormone suppressors are bad for kids on long term, but you won't find that info easy cause it goes against the narrative).

I stumbled across some preliminary research - ok preliminary, but alarming - that showed stalled IQ development on blockers.
I mean, ok from my perspective, it would have saved me from decades of terrible depression if this kind of thing was available when I was young. Buuuut, at the cost of IQ? I wouldn’t have chosen that.
There are still ways to help youth who are trans without it.
