Why are "killing the process with Task Manager" and "shutting down the PC" listed as reasonable options of quitting Chrome? They make it sound like they're planning to disable the X button. "Of course you can still exit our dystopian browser, you just need to shut down your PC to do it. But we still recommend you leave it up ALL THE TIME, because we know what's better for you, so we need to be able to track you via your browser."
As for the main news of the article, I can't say that I care much, as I've never used that key combination, but it still sounds like a silly decision.
It freaked me the hell out. Like, until then I assumed the x-button just, like, told the computer to stop the program. Anything else seemed crazy to me. Like, what if you had a program that didn't want to be closed? Did people really think this was okay?
Then I found out programs bring their own uninstallers with them. That was freaky.
