If anything, the Steam Deck is definitively putting one more fuck you to Microsoft and their TPM demanding ass

What's definitively hopeful for it is that it's gonna make Valve put an even bigger focus on Proton and might actually make devs make a little more Linux native ports, if not at least choose component for their games to make it as proton friendly as possible (is that a thing? Like maybe choosing Vulkan/Open GL vs DirectX maybe?)

I don't think DirectX is even the biggest obstacle to Proton now. But rather other redistributals like dotnet, visual C++, and other tools that usually get installed on your Windows alongside games.
