Where do you save images?

Putting images on the desktop slows down PC boot. That's evil. Hence, chaotic evil.

@alyx @colonelj I think Windows does it acrimoniously so it does block the thread for the taskbar etc

Yeah, I've had personal experience, some years ago, with someone asking me to fix their system because they thought it was a good idea to save a big multi-layered psd as a massive multi-layered tiff on their desktop. I believe the file was in the gb range, and it prevented Windows from booting completely. I think only the cursor showed before locking up.

@alyx @colonelj could be fixed by using threads come on Microsoft, this is programming 101

An easier fix would be to just set a size limit on the files you attempt to make a thumbnail for.
