It is all about timing too. You admit you're a furry in the first two weeks and they're just gonna take off. Wait a year and now it's obviously more difficult to leave because there is so much invested. Or if you find out they're a pot head and have been hiding it (ah yes, that explains why they talk like an idiot all the time)
I guess it depends on your goals too. If you want a family and kids, starting all over it going to cost you. If those aren't your goals, people tend to be more disposable.
I guess this goes with the whole "people hide their faults" at the beginning of a relationship to make themselves more appealing. "Just be yourself," often really means, "Just be yourself, but without all the shitty parts"
