tbh the best way to play oblivion and skyrim is to ignore the entire game and just steal stuff for money

The speech roulette mini-game? You need to find which segments make the NPC smile or frown and try to click on the frown ones when they're less filled and the smile ones when they're filled.

Thing is, if you don't screw them up every once it a while, it's gonna be harder to level up the skill. Recently I just spam click a NPC until I get one or two skill increases, and it still takes too long.

Definitely much easier, but you need high illusion for that, and not everyone wants to roleplay a magic class.

I don't think I've ever tried a no-magic build. Usually I at least use alteration for shield spells and mysticism for life detect and soul trap. But I can see the appeal of it though.
