I'm not a big fan of the Romanian language. I find English much more elegant.

One of the things that I absolutely love about English is how easily you can create brand new words, either through altering a prefix/suffix, or by merging or concatenating 2 previous existing words. And the end result sounds just as natural as any other English word.

You really can't do the same with Romanian. No matter how much you try, "băiat-pisică" doesn't flow as easily as "cat-boy".

We literally had to copy the word "weekend", because a literal translation would be "sfârșit de săptămână", which is way too long and unwieldy, and we just don't have a way to make a good alternative.

"Fim de semana"

English is easy, but I do love my portuguese with its many verbal conjugations.

Romanian is the same way with verb conjugations. So is French. It's a pain in the ass if you ask me.

Also italian and spanish. All romantic languages have verbal complications.

I both hate it and love it. I have been trying to incorporate more verbal flexions in my everyday vocabulary.
