I used to think Black History month was a bit stupid. Apparently our Parliament thought it was a good idea to dedicate an entire school class to studying the jewish holocaust.
I understand and would approve of a chapter in history textbooks dedicated to the holocaust, or to genocides and similar atrocities in general.
But an entire class, that would take an entire school year, on a narrow subject, in a country that is far from being a major player in what happened at that time, and that doesn't have a visible issues with anti-semitism or fringe racist ideologies (like neo-nazism)... I'm sorry, but this is just absurd.

I can only hope that the teachers will be smarter and won't interpret the law that literally, and they include it in the normal History class.

the most this will do is turbid waters that were already relatively clear.

I'm guessing it's gonna be for a complete school year. I don't think our school system normally allows for a course to be held for only 1 semester (outside of universities of course). Although the latter would definitely be preferable.
But yeah, it's a really dumb and unnecessary move for us imo.
@alyx@gameliberty.club maybe it will flop and be sweeped under the carpet like other planned projects and/or maybe they said they're doing it to look good to the west for whatever reason(?)..
but if it becomes a reality and resources get put into this it will be dumb
Even in Israel it's a subject under history class alongside other stuff.
