It's possible. Phone browsers don't actually keep all the tabs in memory. It just remembers the URL and refreshes the tab when needed. I regularly end up gathering 30-50 tabs, and I: a) don't browse much from the phone, b) am somewhat anal about closing tabs and apps from recents. Someone who actually uses their phone could gather up hundreds.

@alyx I just don't close my tabs. Then when I do I erase all of them then try to balance it around 39 tabs before I give up and then rack up hundreds.
