when I was moving my pc to the new case I realized have a 1200w 80+ platinum power supply.

I have no idea why. I have a i7-6800K and a GTX1080 and like.... 3 SSDs and one 7200rpm HDD

why the FUCK do I need a 1200w power supply?

@Rasp I have a 1000 watt one and my actual PC parts only draw like 250 watts
Just in case I want to plug in 4000 Xbox gamepads one day

On idle, or when everything is under full load?
Your PSU needs to be able to handle full load + have some overhead.
Also, for best efficiency, you can use a PSU that is about twice what you'd need.
