I've found that Linux can be weird about passwords sometimes. I occasionally get asked to reenter the password for my home wifi, for no obvious reason. I remember having to restart once, cause it wouldn't accept the log-in password after waking from sleep, no matter how many times I typed it, but after a restart it worked first try.
