Timcast isn't even that great a podcast. By targeting him with swatting and threats, the people doing so are pretty much giving him more attention and viewership than he would if they just ignored him.

I probably listened to about 99% of all Timcast episodes. Can confirm it's not that great. It's not some intellectual heavy hitter that will change the world. They're basically a bunch of low level punks that occasionally invite someone who is actually smarter then them, to discuss current events, only to be distracted by graphene.

@alyx Some of their guests are good. It's more about the guests than the hosts. I tune in occasionally here and there. Listening to him read the main stream news is more tolerable than actually reading main stream news; so it's a good means of grabbing what's in the zeitgeist.

The quality of the program would jump 20~30% if they "spun off" Ian into his own show (or find some other nice way to get rid of him)

Mostly why I follow it too. And sometimes it is worth it. But other times, not so much, and they end up talking past each other and it can get frustrating. The somewhat recent Daryl Davis episode is a good example. He surprisingly came out in defense of critical race theory, and Tim was desperately trying to explain why CRT is bad and was failing miserably.

Tim constantly complains that leftists won't come on his show to have a conversation, but honestly I don't think he would be capable to challenge someone he disagrees with on their beliefs. I'm honestly starting to think they're fools for not taking up the chance to overwhelm Tim on his own show.

As for Ian, he's the comedy relief. Someone like him is definitely needed there. At the beginning there was hipster Jesus (can't remember his name), now there's Ian.
But my favorite duo shall forever be Tim Pool + Luke Rudkowski.

@alyx @djsumdog CRT is just an attempt to explain why minorities are still poor and low IQ.

That's like saying Hitler was just trying to shelter Jews.

@alyx @djsumdog Nah, Hitler put them in concentration camps for the same reason the British did it to the Boers, to neutralize them. Starving people don't fight.
