Don't you love it when someone says "people do change x to feel they are special" when you do it genuinely because it's better?
Yes, I use vim just to feel superior to you, not because it's a more comfortable way of editing

Those people don't understand the editing you need to do.
I fucking don't use vim. Wouldn't even know where to start. But I'm at least self aware enough to understand that I probably didn't encounter the work that would make vim a useful tool over anything else, so for me (and for those people) Kate or Notepad++ is the best text editing tool ever, and there's no reason to even look at vim.
I basically say the exact same thing about OSes. It all depends on what you need to do with it. For certain tasks, Windows is perfect, and the effort needed to learn something else isn't justified. For others MacOS is the best OS. And I'm absolutely sure that for some circumstances, literally MS-DOS is still the perfect tool for the job, and anyone trying something else is borderline insane.
