you could probably just say anybody is from One Piece and if someone challenges you on it just say they missed that episode.
@Terry I used to watch it way back in the day but I stopped caring after awhile. The superpowers people got became universe-breaking and nonsensical and every arc lasted unnecessarily long. The last one that was of any value was Water 7/Enies Lobby, for character reasons, and everything since then (I actually only continued watching up through the Zou arc) has basically been filler.
@HamSandwich how do you explain to somebody what its about in 300 letters or less. Basically your elevator pitch.
@Terry Luffy (a literal asexual) wants to become a pirate and get the "One Piece", a treasure put at the end of the "Grand Line" by Gold Rodger, another pirate that got executed for piracy. Along the way he gathers crewmates (too many of them) and goes on various adventures.
(269 Characters)

The premise itself isn't all that complicated, it's just that there's a lot of self-indulgent and pointless worldbuilding and a million characters with a bunch of different backgrounds and superpowers that you have to keep track of to know what's going on at any point in time. When people get confused about what it's about it's all these subplots and subplots within subplots that are the complicating factor.
@HamSandwich @Terry Lol some of those characters definitely get lost to time. But it's alright. :ablobhyper:
@Sigh @Terry I definitely enjoyed the earlier stuff, but like I said, as it went on and on in what seemed to be a series of pointless directions it totally just lost me. Maybe if you keep watching it gets enjoyable again, but, for me, I'm done with it :peepoShrug:
@HamSandwich @Terry I enjoy how luffy goes from monkey to gorilla strong. Mf is so overthetop now.

Once you invest 1k episodes they can basically shart in your face and you'll still watch, but the current arc has had some badass moments.

Personally, I just got ultra hooked all the way until I caught up, so I guess it depends on the person.
@Sigh @Terry The reason I said that the Water 7/Eneies Lobby arc was the last worthwhile on was because it felt like that's the last time you had really good character stuff happening with the main characters, primarily Robin and Usopp. After that everything started to feel really static to me.

Franky was fine as a character in that arc himself, but I kind of hate both him and Brook as crewmates. The seven they had before that had a good dynamic to them, but with nine the whole thing felt completely unmanageable. That's why, I think, in later arcs a lot of the time ends up with the crew being split up and only one group of them really are focused on.
@HamSandwich @Terry I'm just so fucking happy carrot joined the crew.

but yeah no more crewmates, that's enough, frigging ship is going to need an expansion. :ablobhyper:
@Awoo @Terry @HamSandwich I think you somehow managed to pick one of the most obscure holy shit, who's that guy. :ablobhyper:
@Sigh
He was a Michael Jackson parody that was a hypnotist. I remember him also putting himself to sleep when he did it though

@alyx @Terry @Awoo @HamSandwich Imagine watching one piece and dying before you see the one piece.

>It happens a lot. :ablobhyper:

@Sigh @Awoo @Terry @HamSandwich
Which is why I don't watch One Piece. That and I'm not that interested in pirate things.

@alyx @Awoo @Terry @HamSandwich Yeah, it's also why I don't do anything with my life since I'm gonna die anyway. :ablobhyper:
@Sigh @Awoo @alyx @HamSandwich that reminds me of a title of a James Bond movie
@Terry @Awoo @alyx @HamSandwich It reminds me of that game called the world ends with you, I only played like 30 minutes because the play two screens at the same time felt weird. :ablobhyper:
@Sigh @Awoo @alyx @HamSandwich actually it was from the world is not enough. OK kinda game for its time. You had to do well in blackjack in order to advance a level. This game caused me (temporarily) to be very good at blackjack.
