I'm not familiar with a few of those flags, but more importantly: why is Romanian lawful evil? I'm not advocating is should be "good", god knows too well that I hate my own native language. But evil?

Romanian is pure evil lol, it's a languange deeply mixed with Polish/Russian due historical context, but also a bit of Hungarish.

Italians, Portuguese, Spanish, Gallegan can easily understand each other without basic knowledge, even those languages at inner France like Occitan or Breton.

Just not Romanian. It's more likely a Polish person may understand Romanian lot better than a Italian for ex.

@waltercool
>deeply mixed with Polish/Russian
>It's more likely a Polish person may understand Romanian

Don't know where you're from, but you've clearly been horribly misinformed. Only proper Russian word I know of is tovarăș (comrade), and god only knows where you pulled the Polish from.
There is some argument to be made for some slavic influence, but we're talking about ancient slavic, definitely not proper Russian or Polish.

And in either case, it probably pales by comparison to the real major influence on our language is Dacian. Some of our most basic words are dacian in origin, like our words for: hat, old man, steam, lip, cheese. There's a lot of them.

I really hope you didn't take your "knowledge" of my language from quora users who are Brazilian lawyers, or from a rando who thinks ă and â are of slavic origin, when the list of dacian words are chuck-full of ă, â, ș and ț.

@alyx Not really, I have a good acquittance here who is Romanian, he's at Fediverse but still struggle with his instance 🤣 @chymera just fix your damn server and join those nice discussions .

And two months ago met a Romanian guy who knows Spanish quite well.

@waltercool @chymera
Well, you linked a really stupid quora article as source, so I have a hard time believing you.
Seriously though, do you comprehend how stupid and insulting it is to say Romanian is mixed with Russian or Polish? That's like saying English is mixed with German.

Again, sure there's slavic influence in our language, but we're talking about ancient slavic, not modern. Those root slavic words are not the same in modern Russian, to the point where you can make claims that Romanian has Russian in it, just like root latin words didn't remain the same in modern French, Italian, Spanish etc.

@alyx @chymera This is why I stated "historical reasons".

I know the language is not even close to them, but it's easier for those languages to understand Romanian than any other Romance language, at least without any knowledge.

I met Brazilians, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Galicians, I have Italian relatives... and without knowing the language, it's easy for me to understand they saying (except French) and bitwise.

I just can't say same for Romanian, even books are mostly unintelligible for me, and don't care about the weird letters, they are Romance for sure, just not used at any other Romance language, and that's fine.
@alyx @chymera Also, language is lot more than just words, there are meanings, pronunciations or ways to relate things.

The historical events of Orthodox's Romanian is lot different than Christian's Romance countries.

@waltercool @chymera
Now I know you're trolling. What does the Church have to do with anything? Fucking hell man...

@alyx @chymera U know what, gtfo. You are not even discussing. Every of your responses are just ad hominems

@waltercool @chymera
I don't think you understand how much YOU'VE insulted me and my people by saying we speak Russian words. I don't think you comprehend how much we hate Russia. So yes, fuck you buddy. You're clueless about this. You complain that you and whatever French and Italians you might know can't magically understand Romanian, but where the fuck are the Russians and Polish that can?! You make a retarded claim and expect me to be respectful? Show me the fucking Russians who just magically learn Romanian by trying to read a Romanian book. I'll wait.

There are basically 3 nations we have historical beef with, in order: The Otoman Empire (no longer a thing, and the animosity didn't convert that much towards Turks), Hungarians, and the bloody Russians. You're stepping on some very fresh and exposed nerves there buddy. You might as well be telling a Jew that he has Nazis to thank for his culture.

@alyx @chymera Yeah, you might be doing a generalization about Romanians to your perspective.

I know Romanians don't get well with Hungarians, but that's all. Maybe neither Bulgaria.
