I'm not a fan of Crimea remaining Russian territory, but the water thing was fucked up. Irrelevant of who was right as to who the peninsula belongs to, Ukraine was depriving innocent people of water. That wasn't punishing Russia, it was punishing Ukrainian citizens (or former Ukrainian citizens, depending on how you view things).
