I find the discussions behind all of this... weird.
On one hand, I find it absurd that people are trying to say AI generated images aren't art. Of course they are, don't be daft.
But at the same time, I can't believe people feel so threaten by it, that they need to evangelize weird reasons to not support AI art.
It's AI, that's inherently finicky, smudgy, error prone etc. Anyone who cares about art won't consider it as an option in the first place, so fucking relax.
If anything, AI could be a tool for both artists and clients to create a draft and get a quick idea of what a picture could/should look like. Why couldn't a client come to the artist with an AI generated picture and say: "I want this, but actually good looking"? Or to be used to better convey what each party has in mind when talking about the art to be commissioned.
