How old are we talking about? Can you slap an old Windows on it and use it for retrogaming?
@alyx I think built in 2008, perfectly runs Windows 7 though.

The trendy thing is to reuse old PCs as file servers, or something similar. Thing is, it'd be a good idea to test out power usage, and see if it wouldn't be cheaper in the long run to buy a Raspberry for something like that.
