I mean, it obviously sounds bad for us now because we've got used to hearing "Elton John".

If he had picked "John Elton" from the start, and that's all we heard, that would have been the normal version, and "Elton John" would have sounded weird.

@alyx @thor Elton John still sounds pretentious. we're used to it, doesn't stop it from feeling like a last-name first-name swap. that's like when you're in second grade and the teacher calls you Mr. [whatever your last name is] at every opportunity.
