Next time a waitress hands me a QR code for a menu, I’m stabbing her in the throat

@pomstan I don't want to have to get out my phone, download a QR scanner and load a webpage just to see what I can order.

The whole point of a digital menu is that you can update it quickly and easily without having to reprint a paper one but most places I've seen that use a digital menu can't even properly maintain it unless they're a chain so it ends up out of date anyway.

Plus it involves bringing out phones at the dinner table which I'm not a big fan of. Restaurants are supposed to be a social experience and I think you lose that if everyone's on their phones the second they sit down
@VD15 @pomstan I'm indifferent on places having both, but I will flat out refuse to eat somewhere that only has a QR code menu. I don't give a shit where or what it is. I do not have a QR reader installed on my phone, my native camera will not detect them, and I will not change that. Fuck off.

Every manufacturer will put different things on their device. There isn't really a standard you can rely on. Closest is expecting that an Android phone comes with Google Play Store and Services.

There are other bits and pieces that have a high likelihood to be installed on the average Android phone, but none are 100% sure.

@alyx @pomstan @Kallian I usually just impulse uninstall anything starting with google- when I get a new phone at this point
