Some guys on poa.st were talking about sleeping with your cellphone in plane mode and how that made them sleep better, I've yet to try it...

I'm interested in the result tho :cirnoHi:

It's only gonna be a placebo effect, or a psychological effect, due to the fact of knowing there won't be any disturbances during sleep. No notifications, no mails, to phone calls, nothing. If your daily life has a lot of those, and you're stressed because of it, knowing night time is guaranteed to give you peace and quiet can provide extra comfort and help you sleep.

@alyx @Elfie @sjw My phone is in perpetual silent mode, except it lets calls through in case of emergencies, but I never get called, so

I try to power it off at night just to preserve battery. I don't charge overnight, and no matter how I leave it, it still uses up more battery by staying on all night than a power-off/power-on cycle.

@Elfie @sjw @alyx @coolboymew that's just common sense. turning off your router too (bcs wifi)
@alyx @alyx the only reason I can think is static electricity

@sjw
I've considered that, but how much static could you even generate while sleeping, and what possible harm could it bring you that you feel the need to ground yourself?

@alyx @alyx I mean, if you wear flannel pajamas, have a fleece blanket, and live in a dry climate, then quite a lot.
