Well, they did try to invest heavily in VR, and then ended up creating that utter crap Meta VR thing with shitty models that didn't even have legs. So Facebook is probably desperately trying to keep people talking about it cause they invested too much money for VR to be another passing fad... again.

@alyx @a1ba tbf, the meta quests seem like good devices; they're dirt cheap, completely standalone and requires zero setup. They're just gimped by the software.
