Ray tracing itself is not a bad technology, but right now it's half-baked at best. And the processing power just isn't there yet. Especially when combined with the current 4k/120hz trend.

If applied fully, ray tracing does provide a noticeable graphic enhancement. But the current hardware isn't powerful enough for most games to do that, so they generally implement only part of what it can do, like reflections or shadows. And in these cases, the difference isn't that big between ray tracing and older methods of doing things.

Technically you could, but even if the EU copyright thing goes in full effect, I doubt you're big enough for anyone to notice. Unless you gain millions of users, you'll probably be safe.

Best case scenario I could see them redoing Crysis 1. Considering current trends, it's been long enough since release for a remaster, and Crysis could definitely make use of a facelift.
