They probably defederated because they no longer had anything to gain. They federated because they needed a phone app. Once the bigger phone apps domain blocked gab, that was over. All gab was left was wasting resources on federating with just a couple of instances that weren't even that friendly with gab.

That's... odd... at some point we had a tax for if your house had gutters pouring rain water in the public domain (in the street). Not sure what happened to it, since it was a bit controversial.

Personally I don't believe in god, rather I believe those rights are a direct consequence of our features as human beings. For example, we have the right to free speech, because communication is a primary trait that differentiates us from animals. Another example, if we had evolved from plants, I expect the Constitution would have granted rights to access sunlight.

Also, my argument is that they should be bound by the Constitution, because by having power over the government, they're basically supplanting it as the "ultimate" authority in the state. (I put "ultimate" in quotes, because technically, it should be the people who have ultimate authority)

Here's the thing, it's not the government that ultimately ensures the government respects the constitution. That's just circular nonsense. It's the people who have the supreme power in such a matter. So the question is, when will the people decide to enact their power, however they may desire, against these corporations?

I'll put it in even simpler terms: it costs money to constantly move money around from private entities to the state and then between all the state's entities until it finally reaches the public service that is meant for the ones paying the taxes. You're literally wasting money by moving it in a huge circle until it's supposed to reach back to you.

With these American elections, it has become quite obvious to some, that these tech companies have started having power over the government. Which was something inconceivable when the American constitution was formed. So if the government is bound by the Constitution, to respect certain rights of the people, then we need something to bound "muh private companies" to respect the same rights if they have such controlling power

What irks me the most, is that even now, with covid lockdowns happening everywhere, people still are not able to grasp the obvious: the online space, especially social media, is what the current public space is. This is where people talk and interact with each other the most, and it should be treated as such.

Except you can't, can you? Not with corona. You're not allowed to gather in public spaces, and you're allowed to gather in large parties in your home either. So which place exactly do you have left for freely sharing thoughts and ideas?
Your government has already implemented a work-around to stop free speech happening IRL, and "muh private companies" are denying it online.

So what are you going to do?

It's really sad that so many people don't understand what fascism even is, what parts of it are the actual dangerous ones, and how to actually spot them. Can't really tell if it's because the school system failed, or if the marxist propaganda in the recent years was really that effective.

I'm still waiting for someone to arrest Madonna for inciting people to bomb the White House. Or how about at least a ban from Twitter...

Kinda depends on what exactly you consider the purpose of Neckbeard.xyz is, and how you view the role of a moderator on your instance. But from what I gather of those 2 things, yes. You're the perfect moderator for neckbeard.xyz, and have done an amazing work.

DC's animated series are severely underappreciated imo.
