Some of those can be interesting with a right implementation. For instance, Black Mesa will give you film grain when you're near radioactive material, so you have a nice visual indicator of how much damage you might be taking.

But yeah, just film grain for film grain's sake is stupid. Same with most of such effects. I'm also usually not a big fan of depth of field.
