@beardalaxy
I'm like that with the Half-Life series and with Dead Space. I keep doing another playthrough every once in a while, even though I know every nook and cranny.

It's actually on the list of movies I want to watch. I just need to get around to it.
@emilis
Cause people share your intimate love of conveyor belts.
@alyx Oh not really. It was just crazy going outside and seeing the conveyer belt pattern still going if I looked at any close object like the bricks on a wall because it was so burned into my brain. I didn’t even finish the game tho lol.

Recently I've started watching some of those big older movies I've missed over the years, and it really puts into context just how bad current Hollywood is.

I'm gonna make someone angry right now, but I never saw The Thing.
@emilis
I bet you never looked at escalators the same way ever since.
P.S. I just got a weird sense of deja vu.
@alyx Factorio. I didn’t play it for long, probably a week at most. But holy fuck it actually consumed my life. I saw the conveyer belt patterns on everything. It was crazy.

Not gonna lie, if this actually happened to me IRL, I'd seriously consider sabotaging the entire space station to eliminate the possibility that an shape-shifting alien could make it down to Earth.
@GearHeadAniki
I feel sympathy for the guy on the left. He definitely has some degenerative disease going on.
@shouko
Let me guess, it still hasn't been fixed.
@toromino
Firefox in 10 years is looking kinda sus.
I still remember the good ol' Uni days, when the campus internet had a proxy server that severely limited any online gaming. Guess who decided to figure out how to install their own private Diablo 2 battle.net style server to solo play on.
The big downside to Diablo 2 was that while you could play single-player, there were a lot of good drops that were limited to the bnet ladder server. Not sure Pluggy was a thing back then, or if it was limited to older patches of the game.

I can definitely see how Pokemon can become addictive. They're fun games, while their mechanics are complex enough to where you can spends years and still not manage to create the perfect team.
For Fallout I can see the modding aspect being more addictive. I know I become a bit obsessed by this part, but mostly for Oblivion/Skyrim.
I've never played the Halo games. Is it the multiplayer?
Gaming question time:
What was the game you were most addicted to, or was closest to become addicted to?
For me it was definitely Diablo 2. There might be other games I've played for longer or more times, but Diablo 2 had a certain hold on me. I'd constantly do "just one more Baal rush", or "one more key rush, so maybe I can do an Uber event".
I don't think I was addicted per say, since it didn't affect my daily life much, but it definitely kept me from trying out other games.
@11112011
That looks enough to feed me for an entire day. Or maybe more.

Oh hi.
The Alyx Vance must go this way anyway.
Gordon Freeman dies in All Dogs Go To Heaven 2.
I wasn't designed to be carried.
