God I wish I were her little pogchamp.

@coyote @Terry
When most of the population is vaccinated, and there's a good chance even among the unvaccinated a lot of them already had it, and have natural antibodies, that number is perfectly normal and expected.
If 100% of the people were vaccinated, you would literally have 100% of infected people be vaccinated, but that in itself still doesn't tell you anything.

It's a known fact that no vaccine provides 100% protection, so we know for sure that anywhere between 5-20% of people (depending on the Corona vaccine taken) would just not respond to the vaccine, not develop antibodies from it, and would contract Corona-chan just as if they never vaccinated.
Add to this that newer variants might be more resistant, and that for some people, that were the first to take the vaccine, maybe their antibody count has started to drop, and there's nothing strange or unexplaineable in Israel getting cases. (not to mention that they were finally relaxing after they'd been in a worse lockdown that USA).

@coyote @Terry
For Israel, I also remember hearing 80-90% vaccination rate, but the million infected are since the beginning of the infection. You need to look at current daily infections to be able to try to draw a conclusion, not the total number. And even then, there are a lot of variables you'd need to account for.

>*responds*
Viruses don't "respond". Do you even understand evolution by natural selection?
What you're referring to is literally the act of environment pressure providing the means of selecting in favor or against certain mutations. Thing is, these mutations still happen, with or without the vaccine. You select for them by eliminating the standard variant, but it doesn't mean they don't develop otherwise. And as long as the variants are more infectious (and they are), they'd still become the dominant version over time.

By vaccinating, all you did was reduce the number of people who get infected or severe cases of standard Corona-chan, helping people recover a lot faster, and providing any potential infection much less time to develop mutations in the bodies of vaccinated people.
Meanwhile, the actual variants people were scared about, literally happened in countries that had low vaccination rates. Remember the British variant? Remember how Britain tried to do natural herd immunity? You think India is a heaven of medical accessibility?

Yes, maybe mutated variants might get past the current vaccine (although last studies I've heard still showed that most vaccines are still very good against Delta), but those mutations would have still existed, with or without the vaccine.

@coyote @Terry
Change "often" to "rarely" and you'll be on the right track. As for Israel, I haven't had the time to look at the actual data. I suspect reporting is faulty, especially since from my understanding, Israel is already mostly vaccinated, with a small minority unvaccinated. So you no longer have a control to compare against over there. And for a country that dealt with this problem so well and swiftly, any number of cases would seem like an explosion.

@nukie
Call me a nutcase, but I do believe there are easier ways to erase data than using sandpaper.

@coyote @Terry
>death rates all spike
And that would mean something, if most of the people getting Corona-chan wouldn't be unvaccinated.

@fluffy
Me: What?! Are you insane? Fuck off you authoritarian lunatic! Go fuck yo.... oh... wait a minute. Let's not be too rash. He does make a compelling argument.

@Awoo@neckbeard.xyz
Not the shit you'll buy for a police force.

@coyote @Terry
Corona-chan started mutating before vaccination even got underway properly. So that's a load of bs.

@Terry
I also remember when Corona-chan hadn't mutated several times into much more contagious versions of herself.

Depending on the amount, the drinking might not be that bad. But the cigarettes... shit. Isn't that an expensive habit over there? Where I live, cigarettes are taxed so much, you can basically get a fast-food meal for the price of a pack.
