Honestly, I have no idea where you got this rosy image of Nintendo, when they're by far the worst in dealing with fan made content. For fucks sake, ask Youtubers that cover Nintendo stuff. You can't even make a review of their games and show trailer footage without being in a legal contract with them that has you giving a huge proportion of your revenue to Nintendo. They absolutely do flex their legal team all the time.
