You need to immediately send this to every Californian you know! This is a matter of national emergency!

Can someone refresh my memory on something... when the antifa riots where in full swing, back when Chaz was a thing... didn't they occupy a policy building for a while? Didn't take take over a good portion of public (state) property for a decent amount of time? How exactly was that different from Trump supporters in DC?
I see these Trump supporters being called terrorists for what they did there, but in both cases, aren't we talking about taking over public property and terrorizing public workers into fleeing? So why are they treated differently? Why were some treated like they were on a camping trip, and the others are said to be attempting a coup?

Can we please have some consistency...

re: uspol

@icedquinn @fluffy @Johncdvorak What bothers me most about this is the sheer number of people who completely and totally don't see through it. It's absolutely insane how many people don't think the riots were a big deal, that "It's just property" .. I've met them .. they're all ages and across the board ... and they are buying into this bullshit too.

It's the plebs in 1984 to a T. It's like people believe they're getting balances info if they watch both CNN and FOX and NPR and that everyone else is "looking at sources that tell them what they want to hear" when all the other sources and showing the exact same stuff, but with the full video clips and in context.

re: uspol

@fluffy @Johncdvorak in one of his speeches he talks about how the white conservative wears his contempt for the negro on his sleeve but the white liberal pretends to be your friend while only allowing token victories to the public, and maintaining a stable of "black bougiosie [sp?]" for appearances.

or to mirror a complaint from right wing colored folk, "harris is only black recently, when its convenient, and is indian all other times of her life."

the protests were only peaceful when it suited the power for there to be protests. small businesses were starting to resist covid lockdown, so it was time to hype up some race riots. as soon as their new candidate was secured they no longer needed the protestors and so their stories were dumped on all fronts.

Remember, it's all just a conspiracy theory. No one would ever try to false flag things for political goals.

@mrsaturday @icedquinn @ethot @lucky this.

They've gone full bloodlust.

They're moving to have all senators who raised objections be "expelled" from congress.

They're talking about "cleansing" the Trump movement.

It turns my stomach.
@TheMadPirate @ChristiJunior @noyoushutthefuckupdad Fact checking is literally ministry of truth. It's easy as fuck to lie with studies that can't be reproduced and there's no actual requirements as to how "accurate" a study has to be. Then they hide the specifics (how was the sample size found, was it double blind, was there a control group, etc) behind a paywall and dress it up in so much lawyer speak the common person can't know if it's legit or not. Fact checking studies when, if it can't be independently reproduced assume the opposite

Time for stupid pole. Pick between:

Here's something I'm wondering. So there are a bunch of people really upset that Trump didn't win. And the common sentiment is that the protest he basically organized only inflamed spirits more, and got people more riled up and primed for violence.

But what if it's the exact opposite. What if this allowed the more ardent supporters to vent some steam, get a feeling that they achieved something, that they showed "them". And now, on Trump's word, they're gonna go back home, with some peace of mind that Biden's presidency can't hurt them, because they did take over Capitol building after all, and if something bad were to happen... "well clearly Biden wouldn't dare do something against the people, because he saw how powerful we were that day".
At the very least, I see the possibility that this event gave the people the illusion that they have power and control over their government, even if/when it's corrupt. And what can give someone more peace of mind than feeling that they are in control of their own lives?

Maybe I'm reaching here, hoping for a calmer future, but wouldn't it be nice if inadvertently Trump pulled one final 4D chess move before he left?
