The important detail i believe you’re forgeting here is of the entire concept of “age of consent” being about marriage and not sex.

The solution they gave though, was not to ban brothels or prostitution, but to raise the age of consent so it wasnt 12 year old girls being legally fornicated but 16 YOs instead.

Age of consent laws changing in any other time period before this was for legalistic marriage reasons. Many european countries had laws where the AOC was 7, 9, 12, or 14. And they mostly stayed the same since the 12th century.

Jewish influence had interpretted this law in the first bastsardization they could find. By making it about a sinful act of pre-marital sex. Where theres no courting, no standard, no family backing or establishing of a long lasting relationship. These are the only real evils i think have been caused.
