If you are on the auth right, try rephrase your arguments so that:
1) you do NOT mention Bible
2) you do NOT mention God or objective morality as written by him.
3) you do Not mention degeneration
I am sure you will get much better results.
@LukeAlmighty Libshits pilpul "degenerate" like it needs some metaphysical justification but it just means "getting worse" and if you say that, they can do the same thing with "worse"
I get being hesitant with it since it's a meme, but also being defensive about it would probably just lead to the same thing with something else. If they try pilpuling it just post a dictionary at them

Throwing out certain words as easy as you'd breathe mellows / severely dilutes their meanings. 'Degenerate' is supposed to be an utterly gutteral, almost brutish response to an action or a state of being, so applying it to stupid and meaningless arguments and non-problems makes you sound wishy-washy and signals to other people that even -you- don't value your own words.

Yes, I was talking just about the emotional reaction you get from using the word.
Degenerate is such a strong word, it implies that you do not even believe that the person can be redeemed. Definitelly not a good point to form an argument around.
And It is a good word. For example, people converting kids into trannies are in fact beyond empathy. But when I hear the same about gays, or people who like athletic girls, it is something else...
@LukeAlmighty Other two are true though. Anything you can argue with god you can argue without, but is more likely to be convincing to someone that isn't religious
And if your goal is still making people religious, it works better to first align them to it and go "look how much everything just happens to line up with god"
