@arc FF1, despite being a major ripoff of D&D, has some unique things that make it memorable 38 years later, like neat music and Robocop mech bosses.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad I do enjoy how much more "inspired" it feels on the NES, especially with the "fantasy but with a futuristic twist" happening like Ultima or Might & Magic... The remakes (I only played Dawn of Souls previously) kind of lose a lot of that charm stylistically. Swole class advancement sprites especially...

@arc the first Ultima game had space ships and time travel, though.
