When I started smoking (quit now) American Spirit were the cheapest cigarettes you could buy most places. Literally half the price of other brands. They changed absolutely nothing about them and now they're more than Marlboros and I'm dumbfounded how
Has to be something to do with taxes. quick scan around google says they are marketed as "ultra premium" now. on top of that they claim additive free and 'toasted' all of those change teh taxes and the price point.
i used to bum off the yellows off a woman i was sweet on when i ran out. didn't seem to be bad for what they were.
