Here is my setup, the cpu fan is intake rather than exhaust. I'm kind of at a loss on how to position the 2 case fans i have. Any pointers?

I feel like the rear one should be intake so I can blow cool air over the cpu fan, not sure where to put the second fan though for exhaust. If I put it in the front that's just kind of weird because I'm just blowing air out the front. If I put it up top it might cause a loop where the intake is bringing in that warmer recycled air. If I make the rear fan an exhaust I feel like it's going to just suck hot air over the cpu fan which is just going to make it worse. Plus if the front is intake then it is just going to get shoved around by the GPU fans. That's another potential reason to put exhaust in the front, to get the heat out of the case being generated by the gpu, but yeah idk shooting heat out the front just seems weird to me.

Airflow is something I'm really terrible at so I'd like some pointers!

@beardalaxy Are you considering the option of replacing a case? :0010:

@xoyo I was for a little bit, yeah. I just bought another fan but didn't really think of where I was gonna put it lol. The reason why I'd want a new case is really only because the mount for the back fan is a little skewed but it isn't a big deal.

@beardalaxy When I encounter a situation like the one you are in, I even choose not to cover the side panels.
With this came the annoyance of dust, and I finally chose to replace the case with a new one that supports front and top panel mounted fans.

@xoyo oh it does support them, I'm just trying to figure out the orientation and where I should put the fans. It has support for 2 fans above the cpu and 1 fan in the front, kind of positioned below the gpu where the drive bays are.

@beardalaxy The heat generation is not very large, and it should be enough for one in and one out.

@beardalaxy The fan in the hard drive bay position is installed as the air intake it?

@xoyo I was running only 1 fan as intake because it was right next to my CPU which is also intake. I'm putting in another fan for exhaust, I just don't know where to put it and whether to make the front exhaust or back, because if I make it the back it might just suck all the air away from the cooler or something. I don't even know if that's how it works lol but I am planning on making the back intake and the front exhaust, so that the front can expel the GPU's heat outside the case.

@xoyo I think I'm thinking way too hard about this, I realized that noctua probably wouldn't have designed a CPU cooler that needed the rear fan to be intake, that doesn't make any sense. Plus, the front of the case has a filter on it so putting an exhaust fan there wouldn't be a good idea. I'm just gonna do the basic bitch intake in the front and exhaust out the back and see how it goes.
Thanks for trying to help, sorry fly wasting your time >_<

@beardalaxy Do it according to your idea, and adjust it if it doesn't work. :Bulb_32:

@beardalaxy @xoyo front in, top out, rear out, if all fans are the same you will have negative pressure, if you want neutral you can add two intakes in the front. If it's down on the floor try for neutral/positive pressure or dust will migrate inside much faster.

@Corfiot @xoyo only have 2 fans right now and that's probably where i'll be until i get a new case but thank you for the suggestion!
