@LouisConde weren't those things running full blast 24/7 for a year or so. not such a good deal for something that's gonna die within a year most likely.

@Jean_Philippe_Micheaux @LouisConde depends, if a crypto miner is smart they'll want their investment in a gpu to last as long as possible. it would be going 24/7 but would likely be undervolted to keep lower temps so it's possible that it would be in better shape than a used one that underwent overclocking and heavy gaming usage.

you could also just undervolt/underclock it if you super worried about it.

personally, i wouldn't trust buying one off of ebay but if you could find one locally and buy it off someone face-to-face and test it out, then i think it would be a good deal.

either way though, this should help the prices of new GPUs too!

@Jean_Philippe_Micheaux @LouisConde although it goes without saying that if you're buying a used gpu then you should probably be cracking it open and refreshing the thermals as well as giving it a good cleaning. even putting some machine oil in the fan bearings if it's possible for the card.
