@dave I'm pro-life morally with some moral-based exceptions like rape, but pro-choice legally because, just like drugs and guns, the more regulation gets put on them, the more dangerous they become.
I'm not a huge fan of the federal government having power, so any measure to give power back to the states is a good one as long as it doesn't diminish our natural rights such as the right to bare arms or the right to speak freely. To be clear, abortion is not a natural right; there is nothing natural about abortion. Speaking and protecting yourself to the fullest extent are both natural rights.
If man cannot speak, he must fight to be able to speak. If man cannot fight, he can only kneel and be succumbed to slavery. If woman cannot get abortions, she must... not have sex that will lead to pregnancy....? It's not a natural right. I believe you have the natural right to bare children, not destroy them.
To add to that, because I heard they were also thinking of taking away gay marriage being protected federally, legal marriage is also not a fundamental, natural right. Leave it to the states to decide what is best for their own people, because New York is drastically different than Idaho. For that reason, the federal government should not be putting wide, blanket laws down on literally the most diverse country in the world.
All that considered then, I'm glad they repealed it. I want the federal government to have less power. I want the power to be given back to the states, unless, as I said, it deals with unalienable natural rights. I'm certain my state would uphold those, but many states already don't.
