Thinking about it... My Chemical Romance came to be because of 9/11 and how shitty things were after it. They broke up just after Obama started his second term in office (2013) because they felt they weren't needed anymore; things were decent enough in the world that they could stop.

Now, a year and a half into Biden's presidency, they have come back in full force, citing that they feel they're needed again.

The world, and in particular the USA, is shittier right now than it was after 9/11.

Interestingly, in one of their recent live performances, Gerard Way (lead singer) was dressed as a dead body with the Meta logo on his head dressing. I feel like social media has completely ruined our culture/society forever. It is great for connecting with people, but humans in general were never meant to have such a wide net cast on who they could interact with. We're all from very different cultures and walks of life and most people can't handle that, and even on fedi where people are typically less retarded you can still see it. All the while the companies directly profit off our downfall and our data, urging us into ways of life and belief systems that are ultimately destructive.

Yeah... I can tell why MCR wanted to come back.
