@K imo marriage in general shouldn't be a federally protected right. i think the federal government should only exist to secure our borders and to make sure the states aren't stepping on the people's toes in regards to the constitution and its amendments. i don't think you need marriage to be happy in a relationship, all it really does is secure certain things so that you don't get shafted if you break up but you end up getting shafted anyway usually.

the things the federal government ought to be protecting are things like our right to bear arms but that's clearly not in their interests.
